The COIL Bridge illustrates the challenges that face all of us as we seek to institutionalize COIL. The second graphic presents academic calendars around the world, depicting when they do and do not overlap, an important factor in developing joint COIL modules. The Spectra of Variables provides the COIL Coordinator an array of topics that should be considered when developing new COIL partnerships.
This table offers guidance to those institutions considering the development of new COIL VE courses or institutional partnerships. It seeks to identify, and loosely quantify, variables that may affect cross-institutional planning, course design and communication.
